The AIGA Los Angeles Awards Ceremony

AIGA, the largest professional membership organization for design, with 70 chapters and more than 25,000 members, continues to recognize outstanding contributions to the field through its Fellow and Visionary Awards.

Ozan Karakoc had the honor of serving on the Awards Nomination Committee alongside Toni Hollander-Morse, Erika Abrams, Kim Baer, Eduardo Braniff, Arturo Perez, and Yo Santosa. Following a series of thoughtful and insightful discussions, the committee selected Errol Gerson, Wayne Hunt, and Good Worldwide for recognition.

The award ceremony took place in Downtown Los Angeles, bringing together a remarkable community of designers, artists, educators, and thinkers. Hosted by Michael Lejeune, the evening featured inspiring speeches from the honorees and became a memorable moment for the city’s creative scene.

Among many powerful moments, one stood out: Errol Gerson, who has taught more than 6,000 students over 45 years, shared a simple yet profound reflection: “Teaching is my way of healing the world.”

Congratulations to all honorees for their lasting contributions, and sincere thanks to Flavia Arsenault for her kind and meaningful invitation.
